How do I create an account?
Click 'Sign Up' in the navigation menu and follow the registration process. You'll need to verify your email address to get started.
What do I need to start uploading photos?
You need a photographer account. Once signed up, go to your profile settings and ensure your account type is set to 'Photographer'. Then you can start uploading from the Upload page.
Are there any fees for photographers?
artjoy is free to join for photographers. For each license sold, photographers receive 70% of the sale and artjoy retains 30% to operate the platform.
What file formats can I upload?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP files. Maximum file size is 50MB per image.
How many photos can I upload?
There's no limit to the number of photos you can upload. We encourage quality over quantity - showcase your best work.
Can I edit or delete my uploaded photos?
Yes, you can edit titles, descriptions, tags, and categories from your portfolio page. You can also delete photos at any time.
What metadata is stored with my images?
We preserve your original filename and capture EXIF data from your images (camera settings, GPS, etc.). We also store your provided metadata like title, category, tags, and your photographer name.
How does exclusive licensing work?
When a buyer licenses your image, they receive exclusive rights for the duration specified. No other brand can license that same image during that period.
When do I get paid?
Payment is processed immediately upon license purchase. Photographers receive 70% of the sale amount; the platform retains 30%.
What happens when a license expires?
Once a license expires, the image becomes available for licensing again. If the same buyer wants to renew after one year, they get a 25% discount.
How do I update my profile information?
Go to Settings from the navigation menu. You can update your display name, bio, avatar, location, website, and other profile details.
Can I switch between photographer and business accounts?
Yes, you can change your account type in Settings, but note that business accounts cannot upload photos.
